Custom Carpentry
Carpentry is where a house stops looking built and starts looking made. It is also the work that shows a crew's real level of skill, because none of it can be hidden.
Coffered and beamed ceilings have to be set out against the room they are in, not against a drawing, or the grid ends up fighting the light fixtures and the windows. Built-ins are measured to the wall as it actually is — walls are rarely plumb in a house that has stood a while — and then scribed in so the reveals stay even.
The same goes for the small work. Barn doors that roll true, columns that carry something and look like it, casing and crown mitered so the joints stay closed through a humid summer. We build this on site, which means it fits the house you have rather than the one a factory assumed.
What this covers
- Coffered, beamed, and tray ceilings set out to the room
- Built-in shelving, benches, window seats, and cabinetry
- Sliding barn doors, hung to roll true and stay quiet
- Interior and porch columns, structural or wrapped
- Casing, crown, baseboard, and wainscot
- Mantels, niches, and feature walls
- Shelving and storage built into awkward spaces
Before you commit to anything
Carpentry often gets cut first when a budget tightens. It is worth asking what one well-made piece would do for the room before you cut all of it.
A walkthrough for custom carpentry costs you nothing: Nothing. The walkthrough and the quote cost you nothing. We cover Livingston and Polk County through to greater Houston, so booking one is a matter of finding a time rather than a distance.
